Swim one mile from Padstow to Rock, across the Camel Estuary, and raise money for charity.

2017 swim:  Sunday 6 August 2017 on the late afternoon tide. The non-elite section is now full but there are still spaces on the elite section (swimmers must be confident to complete the swim in under 30 minutes).  Applications for the elite swim will therefore still be accepted with confirmation of places within 7-10 working days from receipt of application.  Any unsuccessful applications will be added to the reserve list.  Download the application form from

2016 Swim a huge success with wonderful weather conditions. Thanks to all swimmers who took part, and to the amazing helpers on the day, both onshore and afloat.

Amount raised so far from the 2016 swim is over £71,000, and monies are still coming in.  Fantastic achievement.

The profit achieved from the 2015 swim has so far reached a massive £70,100 - a huge increase on the £54,541 raised last year.  And it's all for such a wonderful cause:  Marie Curie Care and Support through terminal illness.

Congratulations to all our wonderful swimmers who took part in the 2015 swim and achieved this magnificent figure, which is still climbing.

Thanks are also due to a tireless Committee who work throughout the year to ensure the Swim runs smoothly.  The Committee is helped by literally dozens of volunteers and other organisations who give both their time and support.
Add to this our four sponsors, Mariners Lettings, Sharp’s Brewery, The Seafood Restaurant, and The Metropole Hotel,  and we have a pretty formidable team.  This of course,  would all be to no avail without the Swimmers, both in taking up the challenge of the Swim, and in raising huge amounts of money through personal sponsorship. You are all heroes, and we cannot thank you enough.

2014 swim conditions

A great swim in near-perfect conditions.  An earlier tide, so not such a high tide, sunshine and very little wind combined to give swimmers some of the easiest conditions for a number of years.  The corporate team from Padstow Brewing Company beat the mighty Sharp's Brewery team in the hard-fought corporate challenge, taking the Hawkins Trophy for endeavour!  Word has it there will be a further team taking part in the corporate challenge in 2015 - look out Padstow Brewing Company!

Pictures from the 2014 swim are on our Facebook page - feel free to add your own.

Bring your family and friends to cheer you on and enjoy the entertainment at the start and finish. It is also a great event to watch. The swimmers leave from the Padstow slipway outside the Sailing Club/Sea Cadet Unit at the start of the Camel Trail and swim to the RNLI slipway on Rock Beach. A bar and BBQ are open to everyone at the finish in Rock, to provide time and space to exchange swimming stories, rest the limbs and feed the soul!

The Padstow to Rock Swim is all about raising money for charity. Our chosen Charity partner is Marie Curie care and support through terminal illness, an organisation which provides Marie Curie Nurses who care for terminally ill patients and their families. The swim will raise money for their Cornwall Nursing Appeal.

Perhaps you don't fancy swimming but would like to help out? Then we'd be delighted to hear from you! Please get in touch using the Contact Us page.
